Rogers has been under alot of heat lately. The blogsphere has just lit up. Rightfully so. In the last week, Ruinediphone.com has gotten over 30,000 angry people who either were going to buy an iPhone or were thinking about it sign a petition that says NO. CNN Money, Reuters Canada, Gizmodo, Globe and Mail, CTV, Radio-Canada, YouTube, Washington Post, CBC, TUAW, RedEye Chicago, The Gazette, Macworld, MacNN have all made huge headlines about the story.
Recently, Bell came out with their Undercuting prices with their new Unlimited Data plans. The Samsung Instinct which has been hailed as the ‘iPhone Killer” is selling really well in the States.
Then…… it gets better…
TELUS is next to offer unlimited data on a smart phone……. while debuting their HTC Touch Diamond….
Rogers does not get it…… at least the others see what Rogers did wrong and listened to customers.
Now onto why John Henderson of Scotia Capital is as greedy as Rogers Wireless….
I take this from this article in the National Post.
“Mr. Henderson calls the recent outcry regarding Rogers’ iPhone monthly pricing by online blogs and petitions “ridiculous.” According to company research, high-end e-mail users might use about 50 MB of data per month, with video and music download making up for the rest of the minimum 400 MB offering.”
….Ridiculous? 30,000+ people complaining is a measure stick dude… 50mb of data month? Have they been surfing the REAL internet and not that mini version? I get that you never have to worry about paying for a bill yourself since you are most likely packing a BB and Scotia Cap is paying for it…. but man you gotta know your facts before you fire off stats like you did…50mb? one Youtube video takes that much data…. But of course your an analyst and you are getting paid well to say what you want investors to know…
