This is why I like Twitter.
About 15 minutes ago there was a 5.8 earthquake that pounded LA area. From the news it is not reporting any injuries or deaths. This is still fresh as can be. Here is where it gets cool for me. Earthquakes are not cool… but letting people know about it via twitter is cool.
I get a text on my phone from Twitter. It’s from Jason Moffatt. Jason is a respected Internet Marketer. He says, “Wow, just had a earthquake, or some crazy thing shake my house. Thought it was my dog at first shaking my bed.”
2 minutes later I get this from him, “Apparently I wasn’t high, earthquake was real… http://tinyurl.com/67sjuo Other twitters felt it.”
Not even one minute after it actually happened… people were tweeting it. That’s real time. Here are some screen shots of people right after it happened and the second one is about 2 minutes later. The numbers kept of growing.
562 people had already sent tweets about it before this one above was taken.
770 more!
I’m quitting at this one.. but this is 3 minutes later….
News can travel really fast.
UPDATE******* 30 minutes later just for the heck of it…. 4565 and counting all talking about the earthquake!
